Draft. This text is being reviewed by a lawyer and may change before CamMatch launches.

This policy explains what personal data CamMatch (company name to be confirmed) ("CamMatch", "we") collects, why, and the choices you have. We process your data under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

What we collect

Account details: your name, username, email address, mobile number (if you add one) and profile photo.

Booking details: dates, times, shoot location, the exact address and contact number you share with your photographer, reviews you write and photographers you save.

Payment details: your UPI ID and payment status. Card and bank details are handled by our licensed payment partner and are not stored by us.

Photographers: identity documents (PAN, passport, driving licence or Voter ID), a selfie and payout details, used only to verify your identity and pay you. We do not collect Aadhaar.

Location: only if you allow it, to show photographers near you. We do not track your location in the background.

Device and diagnostics: if you turn on notifications in an installed version of the app, a push notification token for your phone; and if the app crashes or something goes wrong, an error report (the error, the screen, the app version, the type of phone and an account number that identifies you to our team, never your name, email, phone or address). Error reports are kept for up to 90 days.

Messages you send us: if you use the contact form on our website or email us, your name, email address and message, used only to answer you and kept no longer than needed to resolve it.

Why we use it

To run your account, show you photographers, manage bookings and payments, send the notifications you choose, prevent fraud, and meet legal obligations (for example tax and payment records).

We share your name, exact address and phone number only with the photographer of that booking, and only after you pay the advance.

Service providers who work for us under contract: our payment partner (Razorpay) for payments, refunds and photographers' payouts (for payouts it receives the photographer's name, PAN and payout details); our database and photo storage (Supabase, in India); and our error-monitoring service (Sentry), which receives the error reports above and may process them outside India.

We do not sell your personal data.

Your consent and your rights

You give consent when you create an account. You can withdraw it at any time, as easily as you gave it, by deleting your account. Offers and news are a separate choice you can turn off any time in Notification settings.

In Your data and privacy (Profile or Studio) you can download a copy of your data, correct your details, nominate someone to act for you if you die or cannot act yourself, and delete your account. You can also write to our Grievance Officer (below).

CamMatch is only for people aged 18 or over. We do not knowingly process children's data.

How long we keep it

We keep your data while your account is open. When you delete your account we erase your personal data, except records we must keep by law (such as payment and tax records), which are kept only as long as required and without your contact details.

Photographers' identity documents are used only to verify them and are deleted when the account is deleted. Shown to our team, ID and bank numbers are always masked.

Security

We protect your data with encryption in transit, access controls and regular reviews. If a personal data breach affects you, we will tell you and the Data Protection Board of India as the law requires.

Your data is stored in India.
